Synopsis

"In 'Gently Down the Stream' the author explores the lives of two Jewish immigrant old men. They ritually evoke memories of their European misfortunes before immigrating to Canada, and recount experiences of their early poverty-stricken years in the new country. Detached from the strangers they observe in the park, they finally depart for the community center for support and warmth."
