Synopsis

The plot concerns a taxi-cab driver who happens to have two wives, in different areas of London, neither of whom knows of the other's existence. He can get away with this because of his irregular working schedule. Complication is piled upon complication as the cabbie desperately tries to keep his cosy lifestyle from exploding to smithereens.
